What is periodic testing?
All electrical installations deteriorate with age and use, a periodic inspection is the testing of the installation to ensure that they are still in a safe condition for use. Tests are also carried out on wiring and fixed electrical equipment to check that they are safe.
A periodic inspection will check
- Any potential fire hazards.
- Any electrical circuit overloads.
- Any potential electric shock risks.
- The adequacy of any earthing or bonding.
- Any inadequate electrical work.
