We have had some amazing feedback from one of our customer.

Acoole Electrical completed a full rewire on a occupied house, in the local area for Jon and Annie. They have emailed our Director Andy Coole directly to thank him and the team.

“Hi Andy, Thank you and your team for your hard work and patience with our rewire. I understand the house was not an easy one to work on due to its age, but we are very pleased with the result – the chrome hardware looks great. Thank you – Jon & Annie”

Well done Lads – And Thank You.

Dangers of Electricity

Any form of energy, when not properly controlled or harnessed, can result in serious danger to those who use it. The risks with electric power can generally be divided into two categories: direct and indirect.

The direct danger is the damage that the power itself can do to the human body, such as stopping you breathing or regular heartbeats, or burns.

The indirect dangers of electricity include the damages that can result to the human body as a result of something caused by electric shock, such as a fall, an explosion, or a fire.

Electricity at any voltage can be dangerous and should always be approached with caution. An electric shock can occur upon contact of a human with any source of voltage high enough to cause sufficient current flow through the muscles or nerves.

The best way to avoid electric shocks in the home is to have your circuit’s tested by a qualified electrician.  Never tamper with the electrics in your house, leave it to the experts A Coole Electrical

Periodic Electrical Testing on Domestic Rented Property

Calling all Landlords

It has been highlighted recently and causing serious concerns amongst electrical contractors over the safety of domestic electrical installations

Prompting calls from communities and local government for regular electrical safety inspections in rented properties

This is causing a real concern as electrical accidents cause more than 350,000 serious injuries each year and causes more than half of all accidental house fires.

However, tenants are most at risk – they are more likely to experience a serious electric shock than home owners and more likely to experience a house fire  there is concerned that unless landlords take action, the situation will further deteriorate.

The problem arises from a lack of understanding over who is responsible for the electrical safety of a private rented property.

Ideally your properties should be checked every 5 years or on change of tenant.

Most properties have wiring over 20 years out of date

If this sounds like your property and you have concerns about your tenant’s safety

Contact one of our dedicated team today on 01226 296425  or contact us on line here to discuss and arrange to have your property tested

Rewires – South Yorkshire

Are you in line with 17th edition wiring regulations?

Keeping your electrics up-to-date with the current Wiring Regulations reduces the risk of any faults occurring and therefore reduces the potential for electrical shocks or fire.

Does you property require rewiring?

All cables, sockets, fuseboards etc. deteriorate over time, to prevent any electrical works becoming faulty and dangerous, it is recommended to have them checked periodically. If the electrics have deteriorated or are faulty, they will need to be replaced to ensure the safety of your property.

Many houses in the UK still have old wiring which can be dangerous and will need replacing. To fully assess the condition of any electrical installation,  an electric installation condition report would need to be completed, but there are some warning signs you can look out for:

  • Any overheating at socket outlets.
  • Any round pin sockets or sockets mounted in skirting boards.
  • Round light or black switches.
  • Fuse box with a wooden back, cast iron switches, or a mixture of fuses.
  • Fuses that blow regularly.
  • Obvious signs of damage to socket-outlets, switches, and lights.

A Coole Electrical provide full/partial rewires for all types of properties from domestic to commercial to industrial, so give us a call today on 01226 296425 for your quotation.
